InsideWork is a People leadership practice specializing in employee relations, workplace investigations, and the organizational decisions that determine whether a company actually builds trust — or just claims to.
I'm Juli Szaller. I've spent 10+ years building and leading People functions at tech startups in New York, from Seed through Series B. Most of that work has lived at the intersection of employee relations, leadership accountability, and organizational trust. The situations that land on no one's job description and require both real judgment and real experience to navigate well.
I'm an operator first. I've built People functions from scratch, scaled teams from 20 to 130+ employees, led workplace investigations end-to-end, managed restructures and layoffs, coached leaders through difficult people decisions, and designed the systems that give growing companies the infrastructure to handle these moments well. I know what it looks like when these situations are handled badly, and I know how to do them right.
What I bring to this work is a combination of senior-level People leadership experience and a genuine specialization in the hard stuff: conflict, investigations, accountability, and the organizational moments that define a company's culture more than any value statement ever will.
When I'm not working, I'm usually diving into sport analytics or chasing my stubborn Pomsky around the forest.
